Baroque dance

Baroque Ballet by l'Eventail Company and Ensemble Les Folies Françoises

Marie-Geneviève Massé invite us to visit "baroque dances Europe" in four stages : France, England, Germany and Italy. Following Campra, Marais, Desmarets, Destouches, Lully and Purcell, Rosenmüller, Vivaldi musics, the steps of the seven marvellous dancers accompanied on the scene by seven musicians, lead us towards a coming to light Europe.

Dances invented more than three hundred years find, under dancer and choregraph steps Marie-Geneviève Massé and her dancers, a light stopped after the Revolution. Return with a ball and a baroque culture which lights the Europe totally at the end of seventeenth century and at the beginning of the eighteenth century.

First academic history dance, baroque dance had imposed its vocabulary ; so during a very long time and overall in the world, choregraphic language in ballet classes was French. This international light shows the importance to preserve baroque dance patrimony and to rebuild up.

She shows us there a marvellous interpretation of a luxurious period for dance.
